the spirit of adventure was shrouded with a veil of laziness.
now as i recline just to while away the time, the thought creeps in, why not explore the area around and look what it has to offer!.
a mere thought doesnt do anything, not a single muscle moved, let alone action.
so, i decided to buy some books, with a sling of a bag, i started my explore, to find the civilization in its night form, so wanted to check out this street called sampige road in malleshwaram.
it was around half past seven on a winter evening, to start with no book stall in sight, hardly few shoppers, but many lazy asses on the steps to the eateries, treading on, more lights unfold, more eateries that south indian style ones, with busy snackers inside, still no book stall !!!
more ATMs, which i have no use of (untill later), felt like JASON on a search for his fleece.
it was couple of blocks down that i get this scent of flowery perfume in the air, sense of belonging, nostalgia, reminscence, a flower market of sorts which lot of colors, chatter with 60watt bulbs, to show off the fare in the right light, mixed with this are the other street vendors with toned down versions of various items useful/ useless.
it becomes more crowded from then on, where the mainstream traffic also entwingles with the sunday goers, a pot- pourri of people all around. A blind train who made a perfect line of two with beautiful voices all in unison singing to make their presence felt, more so cause of the disability. A young couple walking behind discussing on the shopping done, the merits of it, families meeting each other with smiles, one thing to notice so many sweet shops, offering the same delicacies with different names, no wonder central obesity is a phenomenon.
Ah! atlast, manna is here, an oasisin this civilized jungle desert, a used books store, there is something antique, mystery in these used books, the lettering, the prints, the unique msges in the infolds.
finally ending my walk with a city bus transport, covered a 30 bucks fare from home to the station in 5 bucks, with two hours of absolute pleasure. happiness.
Destination... M'lore.
